Brodeur, Brunson and Franklyn Named Philadelphia Big 5 Players of the Week

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Philadelphia Big 5 honored AJ Brodeur (Fr., F) of Penn and Jalen Brunson (So., G) of Villanova as the Men’s Co-Players of the Week, while Adashia Franklyn (Jr., F) of Saint Joseph’s earned the Big 5 Women's Player of the Week award.
Brodeur helped Penn to their first three-game winning streak since the start of the 2015-16 season. He had 19 points and six rebounds in a win over Drexel. Brodeur followed that performance with 27 points (career-high) and 10 rebounds for his second career double-double in a victory against Fairfield.
Brunson had a career-high 27 points in an 80-70 win over previously undefeated Creighton on Saturday. During the week, he shot 15-of-21 from the floor and averaged 20.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
Franklyn had a historic week for Saint Joseph’s, setting a new program record for rebounds in a game. Franklyn had 25 rebounds, while scoring 13 points in a game at Richmond on Saturday. Earlier in the week, she scored a career-high 20 points against James Madison. Franklyn averaged 16.5 points and 15 rebounds during the two games.
